Interim Management Accountant
Location: London, hybrid working available
Duration: 4 months
Salary: £225 - £300 per day
Cedar is currently recruiting for an experienced Qualified Management Accountant to join a renowned education institution dedicated to academic excellence, research, and innovation.
The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of management accounting, including cost management, cash flow management, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide complete and accurate management accounting service to the organisation including cost management.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis and provide commentary explaining unexpected variances.
- Monitor budgets and work closely with department heads to manage financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial policies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimise financial processes.
Skills and Attributes:
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant in a large complex organisation ideally within higher education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
The successful candidate will be fully qualified and available to start at short notice. Previous experience of working in a higher education institution would be an advantage.
