Job description

Blair West are supporting a listed manufacturing client in Stockton as they look to add a Qualified Management Accountant to their finance team. You will support the Group Financial Controller in the day to day management of finance, with potential for progression in future.

The opportunity:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Management of the monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Variance analysis of group performance against budget/forecast, delivering insight and identifying areas for improved financial performance.
  • Communicating and interpreting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Assist preparation of annual budgets and ongoing forecast data for senior management.
  • Support year-end external audit and preparation of statutory accounts at both group and subsidiary level.
  • Financial reporting and control of government grant programmes and internal engineering projects.
  • Maintain inventory standard costs to ensure accurate reporting of product cost of goods sold.
  • Treasury management including invoice discounting facility, foreign exchange and money market deposits.
  • Ensure day to day and long-term compliance with financial procedures and internal controls.
  • Support and lead system and process improvements.
  • Supporting colleagues in your team and the wider department, including ad-hoc project work.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have:
  • A qualification in Chartered Accountancy (CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
  • Experience in a Management Accountant type role.
  • Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft applications, including enhanced Excel knowledge.
  • Proficiency in the use of financial software, experience of Oracle NetSuite beneficial but not essential.
  • A flexible approach to support business needs; accommodating finance reporting deadlines.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with other departments and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to take ownership for tasks and objectives with the ability to prioritise depending upon business needs.
