Management Accountant

Your new company
Hays are delighted to partner exclusively with this public sector organisation, who are looking for an experienced Management Accountant to join their team for 12 months, to cover a maternity.
Your new role
As the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of the finance function, with a particular focus on systems, reporting and performance.
Some of the key responsibilities include:

• The development of effective reporting and forecasting to managers
• Enhancing the development of finance systems
• The development of the management accounting function, including budgets and forecasts
• Carry out efficient and effective month and year-end processes including reconciliations
• Provide regular and timely reports and information to the budget holders
• Support senior leadership in leading and managing the budget setting and monitoring revenue and capital budgets
• Assist with raising manual payments and processing payment runs

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in the position, you will:

• Have proven experience in a similar role that involves financial reporting and budget monitoring/management
• Hold a finance qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or working towards one
• Have excellent IT and numerical skills
• Be proficient in Microsoft office, particularly Excel
• Have systems experience and the ability to pick up finance systems quickly
