Management Accountant

The King’s Fund are seeking to appoint a Management Accountant.  This post reports to the Senior Management Accountant and will be responsible for specific budget areas including Policy, Events & Partners, Facilities and Capital Expenditure. Two of these budget areas are income generating so support with bids and tenders will be required.  

The role will involve working with budget holders and others, to compile budgets and quarterly forecasts, monitor and report on financial performance and help them understand complex financial issues. You will ensure that at each stage, from presenting monthly reports to investigating variances, best practice is followed, and productive relationships are developed across the Fund.  You will proactively seek opportunities to improve processes and implement efficiencies.

What you will need to succeed 

You will be qualified or studying towards a qualification with experience in a management accounting role including budget holder interaction. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to liaise with different budget holders.  You will have advanced excel knowledge (which will be tested during the interview process).  Applications from candidates with experience within or outside the sector are both welcomed.

The Fund is committed to a hybrid working model that meets the organisation’s needs, while giving staff flexibility to choose between office and home working. Most staff are expected to work a minimum of 40% from our central London office and are free to work more days from the office if they prefer. We are in the process of developing our long-term policy on this, although the expected minimum time in the office will remain 40% (pro rata).
