Management Accountant
Location: Hybrid - 3 days office (Wilmslow), 2 days from home
Contract: Fixed term, 6 - 9 months

We are acquiring a fast-growing business in the eLearning space, and we need an ambitious, dynamic, hard-working, finance professional to join the team and help integrate the new acquisition into the Group.

The role
Your responsibilities will include the production and management of accounts for a Citation business entity, creating and overseeing the company's accounting processes; and supporting the integration of a new accounting system. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large volumes of data. Across all these areas there are significant opportunities to develop, improve and add value to the business and the candidate must have a passion to drive change and make a difference.

Month End
* Establishing month-end processes in line with the wider Group and manipulating historic data into the Group's format.
* Ensuring all month-end accounts are prepared in line with relevant accounting standards, including the correct application of revenue recognition and accruals accounting across the historical period.
* Producing management accounts pack from source data including commentary.
* Responsibility of P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations including a detailed status summary of each control account and variance analysis
* Complete month-end tasks in line with the agreed timetable, ensuring all journal postings are correctly calculated, posted, and supported, performing the month-end close.

Financial Processes and Systems
* Integration of business and implementation of Group finance systems and processes including transitioning to a new accounting system.
* Identify process improvements from both an efficiency and internal control perspective and take ownership for development and implementation of solutions.

Other
* Completing all day-to-day transactional tasks including bank reconciliations, accounts payable.
* Support the commercial finance team to add valuable insight into how the business is trading.
* Preparation of VAT submissions, completion of ONS forms
* Assisting with forecast and budget process.
* Provide ad-hoc support to the wider group finance team.

We're looking for:

* Previous experience in month-end process, budgeting and forecasting and systems integration.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple deadlines across different disciplines.
* Focuses on improving processes, reducing reporting time frames, and increasing the quality of information.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to engage non-Finance colleagues.
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong Excel and accounting system skills. Advanced Excel and data manipulation are essential.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
* Confident with working with large amounts of data & the ability to assimilate large datasets to provide useful insights and commentary.
* Eager to learn and absorb information from the team and other departments, contribute own viewpoint/opinion.
