Management Accountant

They are seeking an experienced and talented Management Accountant to join their team to work closely with the existing accounts team and Managing Director.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a small finance team
• Prepare and complete monthly management accounts
• Develop and maintain annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts to support financial planning
• Produce income reports and analyse financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Oversee daily till activity and cash handling procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies
• Prepare end-of-year accounts and assist with the audit process as required
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies or variances
• Provide oversight and support for the final sales input on SAGE accounting software
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
• Liaise with the external Accountants and HMRC on VAT/PAYE matters
• Work closely with the Managing Director to inform and advise on financial affairs

Experience and Qualifications

• Fully qualified Accountant
• Experience in a commercial business
• Experience in an owner managed business (preferred)
• Experience in working for a Hospitality/Leisure/Sports or Events business (preferred)
• Strong Excel and reporting skills with fine attention to detail and accuracy
• An experienced user of Sage or Xero
• Analytical approach able to suggest business improvements
• A confident leader and people manager with strong communication skills
• Self assured - driven - motivated
