The Company

My client based in Kingston Upon Hull is part of a global leading manufacturer of products used in the food, consumer, agricultural, logistics and environmental markets. Operating in a fast paced and dynamic environment, the organisation is highly acquisitive and has significant and strategic growth plans for the future.

As part of the continued evolution of the Hull based Finance team, the need has arisen to recruit a high calibre Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller across monthly financial reporting as well as provide insightful operational analysis to the Executive Management team.

The Role

• Management and Supervision of a small finance department comprising sales/purchase ledger & Finance Apprentice.
• Preparation and management of the Monthly Management Accounts (Including P&L, Fixed Assets Register, Capex Review, balance sheet reconciliations), ensuring timely and accurate data.
• Preparation of monthly reporting pack, together with a review of month end results
• Produce timely and accurate financial information that leads to and supports the weekly reporting and monthly management accounts.
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules to support the management accounts, including the intercompany trading and funding balances.
• Provide timely and accurate ad hoc reporting to Plant Financial Controller.
• Support initiatives and drive systems/process to remove manual and repetitive tasks, improve analysis and information for decision making and further developments in line with business strategy.
• Review and challenge accuracy of forecasting.
• Provide variance analysis of actuals vs budget and variations on the weekly and monthly reporting.
• Supporting the budgeting process.

Candidate Profile

Nearly/Newly or Qualified ACA/CIMA or ACCA you will possess strong Industry Management Accounting experience with a proven ability to convey financial information to non-finance managers in a confident and persuasive manner. You will have proven analytical and reporting skills through advanced knowledge of Microsoft excel in addition to possessing excellent organisational and time management skills as well as attention to detail.
