We are seeking a part-qualified Management Accountant to join a dynamic team within a B2B Events company specializing in sports and gambling. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the finance team, responsible for the management accounting function. This role requires a candidate who is quick, organized, and possesses excellent attention to detail, as well as the ability to cater to the specific media/events business needs of the company. This is permanent and full-time role with a salary of £45,000 - £50,000 + bonus. This role is hybrid, based out of their Putney office 2-days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Manage the cash flow, ensuring sufficient working capital is available.
- Support the Finance Director and Group Financial Controller in financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data for specific media/events business requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for external stakeholders, such as investors and auditors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Part-qualified in a recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in management accounting, preferably within the events, sports, or gambling industry.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis.
- Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
