This is a hybrid working role which will involve some travel to our Nottingham city centre offices when required. We estimate office presence to be mandatory once every 5-8 weeks with the remainder of your time working from home should you prefer.
- Line management responsibility for a team of 6-7 Software Testers; perform 121s, appraisals, performance management etc.
- Mentor and development of your team, encouraging pro-active development of your team's skills and abilities.
- Lead the troubleshooting of functional and performance issues in both development and production systems and feedback into improved design, implementation and process as appropriate.
- Build comprehensive, robust test solutions for web applications, Rest APIs and services.
- Contribute to the development of test automation solutions using C# .NET where needed.
- Test cloud-native applications within Microsoft Azure.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Software Quality function; facilitate first-time-Quality and be oriented towards teamwork in an emerging and flexible environment.
- Liaise with senior management to continuously evaluate, develop, maintain and ensure implementation of all levels of a highly automated test strategy across the department.
- Foster a team culture and approach to work that embraces Agile principles and culture, and be a positive example to others of the behaviors they should develop.
- Demonstrate strong software engineering practices such as BDD, TDD, CI, CD and pair programming. Mentor and lead members of the team to develop these essential skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement as an individual and actively support the continuous improvement of your team in partnership with senior members of the department and engineering management.
- Liaise with and develop effective working relationships with other teams and key individuals in a cross-functional dev-ops environment.
- Ensure project deliverables (software and documentation) achieve the industry regulatory and company standards.
- Manages client relationships with respect to testing matters.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in automation testing.
- Previous experience in mentoring, coaching and guiding individuals.
- Extensive experience in development of test automation using .NET C# and a framework such as Selenium
- Strong experience in the definition of tests using a behavioral-driven testing approach and Gherkin using SpecFlow.
- Previous experience testing cloud-native applications, preferably using Microsoft Azure.
- Extensive experience of the application of test-driven and behavior-driven development and a demonstrable ability to pass those skills and knowledge to others.
- Superb inter-personal, communication and influencing skills and a willingness to interact with senior colleagues, management and clients at all levels.
- Experience of working in, leading and developing a positive culture in cross-functional agile teams.
- Previous formal line management experience is preferable but not essential.
- ISTQB certification is helpful but not essential.
