An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Managing Director within a market leading manufacturer group who have a long-standing heritage of excellence in the manufacturer and supply of Water Management Products, systems and solutions.This is a key high profile strategic role for a commercially focused Managing Director who has a deep understanding of both commercial and manufacturing environments to take responsibility for a circa £50M t/o group of businesses with multi-site manufacturing facilities.
Description
- Create, implement and execute a strategic plan designed to optmise performance. This will be demonstrable through positive sales turnover growth and increased profit margin.
- Inherit a stable and growing business with the objective to evolve the business by delivering innovative sustainable products to help drive sustainability as a differentiator in the market from competitors.
- Control of all aspects of the business and for the balance sheet including forecasting and budgeting.
- Lead, mentor and develop the senior leadership team.
- Continued focus on sustainability and innovation alongside customer delivery to differentiate from competition.
- Delivery of sales growth across all customer channels including builders merchants and distribution, project specification, sub and main contractors, drainage engineers and growth of export markets.
- Be a leader focused on continuous improvement to maintain and develop consistent product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Work closely with and collaborate with customers, partners, suppliers and key stakeholders within the business to maximise sales and become intimate with the inner workings of all sides of the group.
- Focused on organic growth of existing businesses to drive proactive growth.
Profile
- A well rounded commercially focused Managing Director who is experienced working within a manufacturing environment with full P&L and Balance Sheet responsibility.
- Proven long term experience of bottom- and top-line growth ahead of market growth rates within a building Products Manufacturer, (circa £35M to £150M t/o).
- Track record of selling environmentally sustainable products to develop differentiated, innovative products to gain a competitive advantage.
- Commercial background with a strong understanding of the construction supply chain with exposure and experience developing business through builders' merchants, buying groups, contractors and via specification with architects.
- Experience in an export or international sales development would be desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrable track record of success in driving organisational change and delivering results embracing innovation.
- Flexibility of thinking with an inclusive leadership style that would suit career development within a Plc growth environment.
- People focused approached who can demonstrate experience of mentoring and developing a well functioned leadership team installing a 'can do- will do culture throughout career.
- Proven track record of growing businesses profitably.
- Understands and manages risk - commercial, operational, financial.

- Willingness to travel extensively will be required for this role.
