Role
CW Fletcher are looking for a CNC Manual Machinist to join their team! The successful candidate will be responsible for machining sensitive aerospace components in line with the Master Production Schedule.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manual turn work to tight tolerance +/-0.05mm across up to 1m diameter, small batch work, predominantly fixture based in a wide range of aerospace materials such as Jethete, Titanium and Nickel based alloys.
- Ability to learn multiple machines within the business - turning, vertical milling, radial arm + pillar drills and honing machines.
- Setting and operating 4 jaw chuck.
- Understanding and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Use overhead crane for fixture transportation – Training will be given.
- Understand and be able to follow Batch Card and Standard Working Instructions.
- Cover holidays and capacity issue with overtime when required.
- Work alongside engineering team on new products and improvements.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience in machining sensitive or critical aerospace components.
- Experience in self inspection and recording results of produced components, using vernier callipers, internal and external micrometres etc.
- Demonstrate a good level of numeracy / literacy.
- Demonstrate the ability to use multiple control systems.
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent understanding of tooling and wear
- Ability to work part of a team or individually.
- Effective communication skills.
- Understanding of how to follow SWI & procedures.
- Have a questioning attitude to improvements and 5’s
- You should relish a challenge and have a can-do-attitude.
- A strong work ethic
