Form of workElevation Engineering & Manufacturing have a fantastic opportunity available for a Manual Machinist to join a manufacturing business based in Rotherham. The role is working regular days for a business that specialises in special purpose machinery. Due to expansion, the business has a requirement to add a Manual Machinist to their growing team. You will have the opportunity to learn / move over to the CNC side of business in the near future, whilst still undertaking all manual machining requirements for the business.
Salary: Negotiable depending on skills and experience
Working Hours: 8am – 5pm Monday to Thursday / early finish on Fridays
Holidays: 28 days plus bank holidays
The Manual Machinist will be responsible for:
- Setting and running manual machines including lathes and milling machines
- Measuring and machining to tight tolerances
- Read and understand technical/engineering drawings
- Machining small batch, precision components
- Bench fitting
Skills and Experience:
- A Strong work ethic, capable of both working unsupervised and as part of a team
- A Working knowledge of health & safety and good housekeeping
- A good understanding of engineering drawings
- Experience within a precision engineering environment
- Experience of bench fitting
