Job description

In a world where we have an abundance of information at our fingertips, are you able to make a well-loved local charity stand out?

At Prospect Hospice, we always have a story to tell, whether it’s a patient sharing their experience, a fundraiser inspiring others, volunteers discussing their impact or staff sharing their expertise, there’s always something to be talking to our community about – and we’re looking for someone to help us do that.

If you have a passion for storytelling, communicating with our community and want to use your skills to showcase our work and need for support, we’d love to hear from you.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am-5pm Monday to Friday)

This role will initially be office-based at the hospice in Wroughton. Longer term there is flexibility to work from home in a more hybrid way.

What is the role?

As the hospice’s digital communications and marketing officer, you will be responsible for delivering high quality content across a range of platforms to promote our work in an engaging way to our local community. This is a varied role working with a range of departments in the hospice including our patient services, fundraising, retail and volunteer teams.

You will build relationships internally and externally to find the interesting stories that highlight our work, and you’ll embrace creative and innovative ways to promote the care we deliver to our patients and how people can raise vital funds to support that care.

The successful candidate must have a flair for identifying and creating engaging content with successful background in distributing this to a local community to maximise impact. We are looking for someone who can bring their experience of digital communications and marketing campaigns to enhance our promotional activity and help the charity meet our ambitious strategic objective to create and support a community where death is no longer a taboo.

This is a new role for the hospice and will be focussed on increasing the presence of our brand and our story in the local area and nationally.

In return, you will be joining a great team working in a supportive and collaborative environment for one of Swindon’s best loved charities. Have a look at the job description and person specification and apply today to be part of something truly special.

Interviews will take place on 27 February 2024

We offer a great range of benefits, including:

  • 27 days holiday FTE plus bank holidays (rising with length of service)
  • Generous contributory pension scheme and life assurance
  • Discounts with local retailers, gyms and service providers including blue light discount card
  • Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing team
  • Supportive induction, training and development
  • Free parking on-site
