The Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) is looking for a diligent, motivated, and personable Marketing Assistant to join our dynamic team.
SPA is an established regional business unit of LHC Procurement Group, not for profit organisation that provides procurement solutions to support its public sector clients.

Main purpose of job
You will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Executive on the execution and delivery of a succinct, targeted and impactful marketing agenda promoting SPA’s solutions, supported projects, supplier opportunities and events to uniquely tailored audiences using a variety of channels.
This role will demand a clear focus, the ability to prioritise tasks and attention to detail with a creative flair to match. It will involve the responsibility of a wide range of activities including PR, communications, events, blogs, social media, literature, case studies, email campaigns, and website management.
Most of the activities undertaken will be in collaboration with colleagues within SPA and you should be adept at building strong working relationships with not only colleagues but external contacts as well from public sector partners, suppliers and other key agencies and contacts.
Specific responsibilities of the job
- Develop and maintain a unified marketing plan that leverages all communication channels and monitors the effectiveness and successful delivery of the objectives from channel activity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and accurate messaging
- Analyse data from campaign activity, suggest and implement improvements
- Assist with managing our online presence, including website updates and content creation to craft visually appealing and relevant campaigns across all channels
- Provide wider marketing support for any online or offline marketing activity
- Conduct thorough research to explore potential content ideas or themes for use across all channels that would be suitable for our audiences
- Prepare and organise for internal and external events
- Full management of social media and email campaigns ensuring that messaging is accurate and reflects the mission, vision and values of the organisation and is delivered regularly
- Work closely with internal departments to produce high quality promotional materials
- Maintain and update the marketing budget recording spend and invoices accurately
- Reviewing, ordering and maintaining marketing collateral and promotional material
Experience
The following experience and attributes are desirable:
- Experience using a website CMS, Microsoft 365 and other marketing software (Spotler, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Analytics/Search Console)
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Familiar with/interested in graphic design, photography, filming or motion graphics •
- Driving licence
- Experience planning and organising events
Qualifications & Training
- Qualification or experience in Marketing or a relevant subject
Aptitudes & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and tools
- Knowledge of social media platforms
