Job Summary/Purpose and Role
The Marketing & Communications Officer position has an essential role in delivering CAN’s strategic marketing plans both internally and externally. It is necessary that marketing activities are managed at the highest standard and in alignment with expectations of the wider Cyclife – EDF Group, of which Aquila is a part. The Marketing &Communications Officer will be part of the central point of contact between Aquila and Cyclife - EDF, for all marketing and communication activities.
The job holder will be responsible for completing marketing and communication tasks as well as managing related projects and campaigns. This requires the job holder to manage CAN’s external brand and creative consultancy who will provide strategic and creative input for marketing collateral. You will need to collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders from across CAN’s functions including Projects, Engineering and HR.
It is necessary to have the drive to make a difference, take the initiative, be creative, and contribute to the Company's fundamental business principles and values.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Support, develop and implement communication plans throughout Aquila in alignment with Executive and Group strategies, including the company’s goals and objectives.
- Support Group and RMU marketing activities as required.
- Develop briefs for CAN’s external brand and creative consultancy and manage delivery of marketing projects according to approved budgets.
- Coordinate transactions for marketing activities, seeking relevant approvals according to internal procedures and forecasting expenditure throughout the financial year.
- Draft press releases and seek approvals from relevant stakeholders prior to issuing.
- Manage and grow our social media presence across multiple platforms, analyzing performance metrics to develop plans and content for campaigns.
- Support the company’s Customer Manager with the arrangements for CAN’s participation in external events including networking exhibitions.
- Support line manager to ensure compliance of marketing content/brand guidelines..
- Monitor website content and manage updates through CAN’s external brand and creative consultancy.
- Coordinate and manage development of marketing collateral, including but not limited to project case studies, product category brochures, letterheads, email signatures and logo placement, with support from CAN’s brand and creative consultancy.
- Contribute creative campaign ideas against marketing objectives.
- Coordinate and manage the creation of advertorial content with publications such as Nuclear Future, etc.
- To plan and coordinate execution of all web, email, social media, video or display advertising campaigns according to company’s goals and objectives.
- Proactively manage relationships with the Executive and Operational Management teams.
- To prepare, review, revise and edit a variety of company’s documents of internal and external publications for assigned projects when necessary.
- Responsible for the internal communication calendar to ensure a regular drumbeat of content, drafting all internal communications as per line manager’s request/Executive Leadership team.
- Act as the key contact for all internal and external clients supporting them with all marketing-related requests.
- Support the marketing and communications strategies for the company’s social impact programmes and initiatives.
- Support the mentoring and development of marketing resource in the company’s Regional Management Unit (RMU), Cyclife UK.
- Support and work with the HR team on various communication projects including employee’s engagement surveys.
- Coordinate the management of company’s events and related activity.
- Prepared to undertake regular travel in the UK and overseas when required.
- Attend various business meetings as required.
- Any other job duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
- Understanding of GDPR/data protection legislation procedures and requirements in a highly regulated environment. Comply with GDPR and with CAN data protection policy.
- Comply with the company code of ethics and all polices (including staff handbook) related to the company corporate documents.
