Job description

Are you someone who is capable of leading a dedicated team and can work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, juggling all the various tasks an exciting, expanding business can throw at them?

We could be the place for you! Here at McGill’s Bus Group, we’re proud to be the UK’s largest privately owned bus operator. We have a reputation for quality and growth, making decisions that challenge industry norms and help to shape the face of the sector.

We now need an ambitious professional to manage our marketing team and output, developing strategies and campaigns that can grow as we do. This key role in our leadership team will oversee the day-to-day activities of your colleagues, ensuring the seamless and accurate delivery of our brand messaging and communications right across our portfolio of businesses. With several strong, local brands in local & interurban bus, coach holidays, sightseeing tours and airport connections, there’ll be a wide range of opportunities to show off your skills!

You will uphold exceptional standards for how we are represented amongst the customers, partners and communities we proudly serve – and how we are judged and presented internally amongst our colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage day-to-day activities, including engaging and providing support to the marketing team to ensure efficient completion of tasks.

- Develop and execute effective, value-added marketing campaigns across various channels, including social media, mobile, search engine, and website content.

- Monitor brand performance through market research, customer insights, and the competitive landscape to drive continuous improvement.

- Assist in delivering our brand's customer journey, including designing and overseeing content such as press releases, artwork, print, and digital media to ensure consistency and relevance.

- Recommend, create, plan, and deliver strategies to position our brands for growth and longevity, including identifying new business opportunities, attraction strategies, and enhancing employer brand reputation.

- Professionally liaise with external suppliers and vendors to ensure the seamless delivery of all marketing activities, managing relationships and contracts to optimise outcomes and minimise costs.

Qualifications/Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field(desired)

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a marketing or brand management role, with proven experience of leading a small team.

- Strong understanding of marketing principles, market research methodologies, and consumer behaviour analysis.

- Ability to handle customer-facing matters sensitively and effectively, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels and tailor messages to diverse audiences.

- Flexibility and agility to act with speed and accuracy in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and market conditions.

Benefits:

- Competitive annual salary package

- 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, based at our Greenock Office

- Free travel for you and your partner across our networks in Scotland

- Exclusive offers as part of our Perk Alert programme at attractions, shops and more including Costco, Malmaison restaurants and CalMac ferries.

Recruitment Process:

- Click the apply button and complete our online application form, attaching your CV, or alternatively, send your CV to recruitment@mcgillsbuses.co.uk.

- Successful candidates will be invited to a two-stage interview process including an initial video call.
