Purpose of the Role
To manage all aspects of the Centre’s marketing and promotional activity, tenant turnover information, performance and turnover/trade reporting, social media in line with the agreed marketing plan and service charge budget. Maintaining regular contact with Tenants’ Managers and representatives to ensure the proper flow of information necessary to manage and promote The Centre, Livingston. In addition, to undertake Duty Manager responsibilities, as and when is required.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing General
- Liaison with tenants at both site and head office level, both face to face and written communication to achieve maximum engagement with centre marketing initiatives for mutual benefit.
- Managing and collation of the tenant trading analysis.
- Liaison with customers, community groups, local authorities, and surrounding landowners.
- Feed into, develop and aid the preparation and implementation of an annual marketing and public relations strategy and events plan
- Assist with the Coordination and management of all marketing activity including events, advertising, and design.
- Day to Day Management of all appointed consultants.
- Management of budgets against agreed levels and regular reporting of this information to The Centre, Director.
- Work with the Centre Director and Landlord to maximise publicity and press coverage that delivers an appropriate image of The Centre.
- Production and preparation of advertising and promotional material for in-house and external events.
- Manage and update The Centre website with relevant and up to date content.
- Manage and update social media sites with relevant and up to date content.
- Monitor above and deal with any negative/objectionable content immediately.
- Responsibility for collating and analysing available information relating to marketing activity, including Wi-Fi usage, social media, and website user statistics to effectively focus and refine future marketing activity.
- Keep up to date with local news and events and to ensure relevance of centre marketing.
- To be visible as a member of the team during mall events or helping the general public when they are visiting the mall.
- To create unique online content by taking photographs, using photo editing software or uploading appropriate materials that best deliver the intended message on behalf of The Centre.
Limits of Authority
The Marketing Manager shall not without authority:
- Employ or dismiss salaried staff.
- Commit, authorise, or pay accounts in excess of agreed limits.
- Vary terms or conditions of the standard leases.
- Involve Savills or the Landlord’s in legal proceedings.
- Grant salary or wage increases.
Specific Management Responsibilities
- Form part of the Duty Manager Rota which includes weekend and evening working where necessary.
- Any additional duties and responsibilities which may be required from time to time to enable the post holder to develop their role.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Ability to engage with internal and external partners, clients, and stakeholders.
- Financially astute with ability to maximise efficiency and effectiveness, including management and reconciliation of the Marketing Budget.
- Strong report writing, analytical and presentation skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel (advanced)
- Experience of delivering results including challenging KPIs.
Confidentiality
All Centre Management matters pertaining to the development and its retailers must at all times be kept confidential. Under no circumstances should confidential information be discussed with any party other than with the party directly involved with the issue. The Marketing & Tenant Performance Manager must always also exercise discretion with disclosure of sensitive information to any staff and it is preferable, where possible to apply the “need to know” principle.
