The British Dragonfly Society is the voice for dragonflies in Britain and we work to conserve them and their wetland habitats. Our key aims are to improve understanding and awareness of dragonflies, their conservation and the challenges they face, in order to increase action for dragonflies across Britain. We are science led with research and recording underpinning our conservation and engagement work. Our small staff team is supported by a dedicated network of volunteers allowing us to have a big reach and impact.
As Scottish Conservation Officer you will work with volunteers and partner organisations across Scotland to conserve some of the UKs rarest dragonfly species. You will manage projects, working with conservation partners and volunteers to improve and survey habitats. Your work will also involve training partner organisation staff, volunteers and the public in conservation and recording, communicating our messages and engaging with the public, and reporting to partners, Trustees and funders.
