Job description

Marketing Planning and Campaigns Manager

We're on the hunt for an experienced marketing specialist to join our Marketing Planning and Campaigns team as a manager.

With a new firmwide growth strategy launched, and our marketing & BD strategy signed off by the Board, this a great time to join our firm.

What's the team and role about?

Our Marketing Planning and Campaigns team is responsible for Planning and delivering marketing activities and Campaigns across agreed sectors, topics, teams and offices to win work and build our brand.

As a manager in the team you'll work with other team members to develop and deliver our sector marketing plans and our flagship multi-channel marketing campaigns. This will include scoping, setting objectives, briefing agencies, managing budgets and analysing results, with the aim of winning new work from existing clients and new prospects.

What will you actually be doing?

Working alongside colleagues in the Marketing Planning and Campaigns team and across the wider Marketing & BD Group, you will:

  • Have oversight for developing and managing of all of the firm's marketing plans and Campaigns. This includes setting objectives and KPIs for marketing plans and activity, reporting on results and managing budgets throughout the year.
  • Lead on delivering a handful of sector or market issue-focused marketing campaign, which will include managing a campaign team from across the Marketing & BD Group on tactical outputs.
  • Work closely with the New Business Development and Key Account Management teams to ensure that all opportunities generated through our marketing campaigns are followed up and converted.
  • Collaborate with the Brand & Communications team to ensure we maximise all internal and external PR opportunities in our marketing campaigns, as well as ensuring they reflect our positioning and are optimised for each delivery channel brand.
  • Share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues in the library and practice development teams to ensure the firm's thought leadership is consistently at a high level and targeted to our client base and appropriate objectives.
  • Work with members across all M&BD team to ensure proper messaging, timing and execution of multi-channel campaigns.
  • Manage agencies as required to deliver marketing and events activity, particularly for flagship campaigns, with a clear focus on setting objectives and measuring results.
  • Ensure that the outputs from our qualitative and quantitative research are fed into marketing plans and used to inform our choices about marketing and communications activities.
  • Use performance data and insights to make data-driven decisions to continuously improve campaigns.
  • Build a strong understanding of the firm's key sectors and the macro issues impacting them and our client base.
  • Develop a high-performing team and manage the personal development of colleagues in the Marketing Planning and Campaigns team as well as teams across the M&BD group.
  • Champion best practice and continuous improvement amongst M&BD colleagues.

Why should you be excited about the role?

  • The M&BD strategy we've defined follows a really thorough review and has been signed off by the Board, so you know that we're serious and committed about what we're doing.
  • We've got some great flagship marketing campaigns in the offing, so there'll be lots of activity happening that require your support, leadership and creativity.
  • We've just finished a large-scale qualitative and quantitative research project. So we know exactly what the market thinks of us and have plenty of insight to help you formulate approaches to the target decision makers, whether that's GCs, FDs, HR directors, IT directors or others.
  • Working alongside the Marketing Planning & Campaigns team will be our New BD team. While you manage the marketing plan, they'll manage the BD pipeline, and you'll form a tight team working alongside the sector / market leaders.
  • We're doing a lot more with our colleagues in the US, so there'll definitely be opportunities to collaborate on cross-border projects and international growth plans and marketing campaigns.

Who's this role right for?

To be successful in this role you'll need as a minimum:

  • Proven track record of effectively managing and developing high-performing teams
  • Ability to work alongside senior stakeholders, providing coaching and influencing marketing approaches
  • Experience in delivering innovative initiatives, and exploring new channels.
  • Proficiency in setting clear objectives, managing budgets, and utilising data-driven insights to enhance campaign performance.
  • Prior marketing experience in B2B or professional services.
