About the role

We are a team of seven Social Workers and Senior Social Care Assistants working in a multi-agency setting with Police, Mental Health Services and Children's Services. We also have virtual partnerships with a host of other agencies. Our main function is to receive all safeguarding concerns for adults at risk in Surrey and gather information to take action in order to manage immediate risk and inform a decision under section 42 of the Care Act 2014. We also receive a high volume of referrals relating to concerns for the wellbeing of individuals which do not relate to Section 42 and we need to determine whether this information needs to be shared and with whom.

Due to the multi-agency nature of the team and work we often have to adapt the way we work to keep up with demand and respond to changes in process of partner agencies. As a whole team we work collaboratively to meet challenges and all members of the team are encouraged to be a part of identifying and testing solutions, so an ability to quickly adapt to change is vital.

As well as supporting with administration tasks to maintain the smooth running of the team, your main role will be screening the referrals and calls that come into the team to ensure they are directed to the most appropriate team or agency to respond and gathering information from the referrer to enable the most appropriate response. This is a fast-paced job, and you will be expected to have a good understanding of the role of adult services, and the ability to identify risk and respond accordingly. We work remotely as well as having dedicated time in the office to collaborate as a team.

In your application, we would love to hear about your:

  • Experience of interacting with the public and professionals as part of your work,
  • An ability to work at a fast pace while effectively prioritising high risk situations,
  • MS Office proficiency,
  • Awareness of the Care Act, particularly relating to Safeguarding Adults, or a commitment to training and applying knowledge to practice.

The job advert closes at 23:59 on 03/03/2024. Interview dates to be confirmed.
