Materials Control & Planning Manager

Elevation Recruitment Group's Procurement & Supply Chain division are currently working with an impressive manufacturing business based in North Yorkshire as they look to recruit a Materials Control & Planning Manager into their well-established team. 

Reporting to the Operations Manager this is an exciting opportunity to work within a small yet dedicated team, to create and implement a best practice capacity planning vision, strategy, and procedures in line with ERP systems to aid and improve operational performance.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Materials Control & Planning Manager will include:

• Responsible for material demand planning and stock control
• Responsible for capacity planning and for development of these services in the organisation
• Responsible for ensuring that capacity planning is fully integrated within the ERP systems
• Lead capacity planning activities ensuring delivery against operational requirements
• Refine systems and methods to continually improve plans so that the organisation can better anticipate customer needs 
• Monitor key manufacturing processes to identify capacity constraints and trends
• Mentor junior staff

Key Skills & Experience required:

• Extensive experience within a factory planning role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• Degree (engineering or business) preferred, although professional Six Sigma or lean qualifications 
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to be able to present reports and presentations
• Self-motivated with the ability to produce accurate work and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent analytical skills
