Based in the Omagh area my client is a successful forward thinking quarry machinery manufacturing company who sell products to the global market. They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (R&D) and they are open to looking at applicants with all levels of R&D experience within a quarry machinery environment. The order books are full and my client is offering secure long term employment. The salary is £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience, hybrid working, pension, healthcare, bonus and a lunchtime finish every Friday.

Role - Mechanical Design Engineer (R&D)

·Prototype R&Dworkto include testing/fitting of anynewpartson localmachines.Thisistoincludethetrialofanewsupplier’spartsinconjunctionwithSourcingandQuality.

·The developmentandoptimizationofequipment.

·Analysisofdesignandmechanicalsystemsofcurrentmachinesandusebenchmarkingtodevelopquality andefficiency.

·Developmentofhighstandardmanufacturingdrawingsinaccordancewith standardstoaccompanywork instructions.

·Productionof detailed writtenwork instructionsforthe manufacture and installations of products.

·Creatingandmaintaining3DModeland2Ddrawingsofproductsforpresentation,manufacture,marketing,andaftermarket.

·Investigatemechanicalfailuresorunexpectedmaintenanceproblemstomakerecommendationsfor corrective action and implements.

·Actively participate in the continuous Quality improvement process, and lean manufacturingstrategies.
