The below job description will outline this position of: Mechanical Fitter
Typically, this person will be responsible for the assembly of new marine craft.
HSB Technical’s client is a very established and well-regarded business entity.
Duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter:
• Mechanical Fitting covering maintenance/assembly & work on bearings, gear boxes, generators, pumps and other mechanical equipment.
• Can work alone and/or amongst a team.
• Work will be completed on vessels varying in size (7.5m- 19.5m).
• Knowledge of how to work through engineering problems with a design team.
• Willing to work overtime as requested by the company.
Qualifications and requirement for the Mechanical Fitter:
• Marine industry experience
• Able to work from technical drawings
• An experienced fitter or an apprentice trained/NVQ level 3 Mechanical qualification
• Knowledge of marine engines and propulsion systems
