Overview:
We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and administrative support in a medical office setting.
Essential:
Excellent communication, telephone and inter-personal skills
Commitment to a high standard of patient care and the professional presentation of the Practice.
An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.
Shift work to cover the opening times of 08:00- 18:30
An ability to use own judgement and resourcefulness to respond to patients’ enquires and requests.
A good level of computer literacy.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work well in a team environment
The post holder cannot be registered at the Practice.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and comfortable for patients
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and emails
- Perform other administrative tasks as assigned
Desirable:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Proficient in using office equipment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is preferred but not required as full training will be given
