We are a friendly GP Practice is Lewisham with around 15000 patients. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic receptionist to support the Practice Management Team in the smooth running of the GP surgery.
You will work at the Vale Medical Centre which provides primary care services to our registered practice population. We are a very friendly and enthusiastic team with a proven record of providing high quality clinical care to our patients. The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with the public and preferably within primary care as well as a positive attitude, strong communication skills and a can do attitude to ensure our patients receive the very best experience and support to meet their health needs.
Main duties of the job
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet patients & welcome them in to the clinic.
- Opening and sorting daily post
- Answering phone calls to respond to patient queries and manage appointments.
- Liaising with hospitals and Consultants for patient appointment bookings and chasing results.
- Handling incoming patient emails.
- Proof reading and sending letters from the doctors to patients.
- Ensuring all relevant correspondence is scanned and saved. accurately into patient files.
- Ad hoc administration tasks.
About us
We have a very strong team ethic and have individual teams of GP's, Nursing, Administration, and Reception within our overall practice team. We presently have ten members within the reception team that you would be joining with a mix of ages and experience.
We are a very busy team but also strike a balance between working hard whilst generating a welcoming and enjoyable environment to work in.
Job Responsibilities:
Patient services
To maximise the patient experience at Vale Medical Centre from whatever point of contact, whether electronic, face to face or by telephone.
Ensure the highest level of customer service is given by all reception staff to patients.
To maintain telephone response rates at 85% or greater.
To promote Friends and Family Test to patients and to collate results for the Practice Manager.
Ensure new patient registrations are handled according to protocol.
Ensure smooth and efficient handling of requests from patients.
To promote use of online services for access and other administrative requests.
To work with Pharmacy to improve the patient experience.
To ensure the patient environment is optimized and comfortable for patients.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From £11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
