Dr. Knox and Partners, Lisburn PCCC invite applications for the role of Medical Receptionist to join their team on a permanent basis.
Duties:
1. Responsibility for practice reception including booking appointments, issuing prescriptions and handling general enquiries.
2. Operation of practice clinical IT system for making appointments, issuing repeat prescriptions, registering new patients, changing patient details.
3. Operation of telephone system, dealing with patient requests and taking messages for primary care personnel.
4. Responsible for the ordering of ambulances and booking interpreting services and secondary care appointments as directed.
5. Participate in the maintenance of the practice filing system including scanning of patient records/ practice correspondence.
6. Process incoming & outgoing mail.
7. Liaise with the HSCB, BSO, District-Nursing team and community healthcare staff. To liaise with all disciplines and other agencies, both statutory and voluntary.
8. Contacting patients for systematic call / recall for clinics as directed and to agreed protocols.
9. Action and record requests for photocopying of notes.
10. Adhere to practice protocols and procedures
11. Adhere to practice policy in relation to Health & Safety
12. Undertake any training required to meet the needs of the post and the changing needs of the service.
Essential Criteria:
- 5 GCSE’s grade A to C inc English & Maths
- Competency in the use of computers & IT systems including Microsoft Office
- Willingness to undertake training / development to meet the current & on-going needs of the post.
Desirable Criteria
- GCSE Health & Social Care
- AMSPAR Medical Receptionist Certificate
- Experience in a customer care role
- Working knowledge of GP Practice IT systems / other medical software
- Previous experience as a GP Receptionist
Hours: 28 per week: Monday – Friday
Salary: (band 3) £21,730 - 23,177 (FTE pro rata)
