Job description

The College of General Dentistry is a membership organisation for dentists and the dental team within primary care dentistry.  We support all members of the dental team throughout their careers by providing standards, professional frameworks and development opportunities.

We are seeking an experienced Membership Development Officer to help build and grow our membership base.  You would work on a variety of initiatives to engage with prospective members and drive member recruitment.

The role is part-time, 28 hours a week (0.8 FTE).  The hours worked are flexible but would generally be expected to be within normal working hours. The role is 100% home based.

If you have previous member relationship experience, are results driven and have the highest professional and customer service standards, then we would love to hear from you.

We are a small team, all working from home and so you will need to be self motivated in a home based role.  Occasional travel will be required, including for periodic F2F team meetings, and other College events.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Research prospective new members for the College
  • Develop processes to streamline conversion of existing contacts to membership
  • Communicate with prospective members and manage the on-boarding process
  • Analyse data and compile periodic reports on progress using the CRM

Essential skills and experience:

  • Prior experience of member relationship management, or member recruitment
  • Experience of using CRM systems to analyse data
  • Articulate and confident in written and verbal communications
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly organised and proven administrative skills
  • Proactive approach
  • Results driven and tenacious
  • A drive and a passion for process excellence and improvement

To apply:

Please submit a CV and a covering letter outlining why you would be suitable for the role.

We advise you apply as soon as you can, as we may start interviewing before the published closing date.

About the College:

The College of General Dentistry is a new and growing organisation.  As well as being the only membership College for primary care dentistry, we are the only medical College across healthcare that welcomes all members of the team: hygienists, therapists, dental nurses, technicians as well as dentists.

We are building a proud community of dedicated dental professionals, and promoting the standing of primary care dentistry within general healthcare, with the aim of becoming a Royal College.
