Mep Design Manager

Job Role: MEP Design Manager   

Area: Canterbury

Salary: £55k + Package

Experience

Candidate will be required to have a good all-round knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems with a depth of knowledge in the MEP design management process.

This position will suit someone who is used to being part of a team and be able to manage the MEP design process from tender to handover. The successful candidate will join part of flourishing design department, the role will generally consist of the following,

• Review tender documentation, identify risks within the design and raise throughout the tender process.
• Review design fee proposals from external consultants
• Set design deliverables for each consultant and CDP contractor and schedule drawings, specifications and other design information required for construction.
• Assist with the design programme in conjunction with CM’s, consultants and CDP contractors.
• Prepare and agree the IRS with design team and CDP contractors at the outset of the project.
• Attend/chair design team meetings as necessary on site and via teams
• Monitor and report on design progress, subcontractor design, environmental/CDM issues.
• Develop and agree design input/output responsibilities between parties
• Monitor progress and status of RFI's and document control.
• Lead regular meetings to vet and comment on design information.
• Review and comment upon design information provided by consultants and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• BIM/Autocad experience and use of Navisworks
• Proven track record of leading design on whole Mechanical services projects.
• Experience in Education, Residential, Commercial and Healthcare Sectors
• A full UK driving license & access to own vehicle
• Ability to work alone and attend client/design meetings on the companies behalf with confidence
• A minimum of 5 years Senior UK design experience in MEP design management
