Role: Merchandiser

Location: St Albans

Hours: Monday to Friday – hybrid (2 days WFH) after probation

Salary: £34,000

An opportunity has now arisen for a Merchandiser to join our client’s successful team in St Albans.

About the client:

An independent, family owned business that specialises in providing school & sportswear to over 500 schools across the UK.

About the role:

Reporting to the Merchandising Manager you will accurately forecast that correct levels of stock are available across the seasons.

You must have experience in retail forecasting.

Primary Responsibilities:

• To deal with all back order and replenishment requests accurately and promptly to ensure the required levels of stock are available for transfer in good time.
• Understand seasonal trends to forecast accurately whilst considering supplier lead times and potential upcoming sales events.
• Monitoring new schools’ sales closely and logically top up ordering to meet predicted demand.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of supplier’s prices, promotions, and products and making sure the system is up to date.
• Ensure returns are carried out within the required time frame and all the necessary paperwork is completed.
• Confirm orders will arrive within our agreed supplier lead time and chase up any orders which have exceeded their delivery date and update the system accordingly.

What we need from you:

• Minimum 2 years previous experience in a similar role – must have retail forecasting experience
• Able to cope under pressure to meet the demand of the business.
• A love of retails & good commercial awareness
• Presentation skills and the ability to explain date cleasrly
• Excellent data analysis skills and confidence with numbers
