We have a vacancy for a capable Software Evaluation and Test Engineer with an engineering and/or physics background to join our team as a Senior Model Engineer.
You will be part of a team of eight Model Engineers, who maintain, develop and assess a set of computational models that underpin crucial defence analysis and planning. The tools used by us, as well as our MOD customer for studies that help us understand the technical aspects of our work and clarify future requirements. They are also included in an integrated software suite that enables our MOD customer to carry out operational planning activities. There is scope to work on other projects in the company from time to time.

How your experience will be utilised
- Supporting our end-users as a technical expert
- Supporting the Team Lead in task coordination and supporting key relationships with stakeholders
- Working with key stakeholders from suppliers to end users to understand the operational requirements and guide development to ensure requirements are met.
- Capture and analysis of requirements
- Configuring, deploying and analysing large datatsets
- Testing and analysing of software
- Carrying out model-based study/investigation work and maintaining documentation

We’re expecting that you’ve done this role before, so you’ll know how to do it whilst spinning multiple plates:
- A sound grasp of the key principles and techniques of physics and maths-based computer modelling, and a desire to put those skills to work solving technical challenges as part of a team of engineers.
- Maintaining healthy and productive relationships with several teams among an international group of organisations, capturing and conveying key developments and agreements, so that systems are aligned and compatible.
- Demonstrable ability to carry out in-depth testing and analysis of multiple software applications.
- Taking the initiative to drive processes, solve challenges, and support more junior team members.
