Work with Cluster Leads and Professional Collaboratives as part of the annual Integrated Medium-Term Plan (IMTP) cycle to identify key priorities for service change and development that will significantly impact on education and training requirements within Primary and Community settings (for example, new service models; changes in service provision at a local level etc). Develop an annual process for identifying and prioritising training needs across a wide and complex range, of multi-professional groups and feed this, via the annual education and training planning process, both locally and nationally. Lead the development of an annual training programme based on identified needs and priorities to inform local and national annual priorities. Lead on the identification of opportunities for inter-professional training and development and build these into local training programmes.
Lead on the delivery of education and training programmes for multi-professionals and groups across the Health Board. Lead the development of a multi-professional CPD framework. Take a lead on the support of the development, structure and schedule of long-term strategic planning and business planning for the Education and Training Framework for Wales and its interpretation and subsequent implementation within the Health Board. Research best practice and innovation on primary care and Community education and use professional judgement to choose most appropriate solutions.
Influence the prioritisation of national requirements for training and education through the local needs assessment and ensure this feeds into the HEIW annual process. Provide support, advice, guidance and professional experience in relation to the quality of the training.
