Fundamental Duties and Responsibilities
- Building and strengthening relationships with key clients to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty including compiling and analysing detailed reports to identify opportunities for new products and maximizing sales.
- Successful Account Management of clients, by collating sales and performance reports to provide feedback and product recommendations, ensuring product catalogues are managed effectively and to the best financial benefit of the company.
- Identifying and pursing new business opportunities, such as new markets, trends , products or partnerships and exploring these until completion.
- Thoroughly reviewing current client contracts to ensure these are being utilised to their full potential, including undertaking head office reviews and growing contracts.
- Managing the client database to a high degree of accuracy to ensure targeted marketing activity, product communication and company promotions can take place to generate new business and expand on existing business.
- Develop creative and innovative presentations and proposals aimed at specific industry sectors to encourage growth and new business conversion.
- Using advanced product knowledge to upsell products, and concepts, and to introduce new or recommended products to customers, including evaluating customer reports to highlight additional areas of potential sales opportunities based on their individual requirements.
- Maintain and complete relevant paperwork and records, including but not limited to, meeting reports, customer account details and expenses according to the business requirements in a timely manner.
- Supporting territory based sales team with their daily challenges and assisting them to resolve issues promptly.
- Working closely with other departments to create product solutions for clients including marketing and new product development and implementing these effectively, providing reporting to record the success of these.
- Consistently responding to head office requests promptly to ensure confidence in our company and ongoing successful relationships.
Qualifications and specific training
- Desirable - Food Safety Level 2 (In house training mandatory)
Experience
- Substantial experience in Food Service and account management.
- Upselling products and customer service.
Knowledge
- Understanding product and customer knowledge.
- Understanding of industry trends and needs.
- Understanding of sales metrics and performance measures.
