Are you enthusiastic, passionate, and committed to delivering excellent customer service?
We are looking to recruit several Neighbourhood Officers throughout the city with various contract options available, full time, part time, permanent and temporary.
You will be a front-line officer, delivering a first class, modern and flexible Housing and Neighbourhood’s service; supporting our customers to enjoy successful tenancies. Day to day, you will be working closely with tenants, this might be in our offices, from home, and out and about in the community. No matter where you are working from, you will create strong relationships and build trust with every interaction and contact that will improve the outcomes for our customers.
The post will involve working with other teams within the Council or other agencies to provide the best possible support to our customers.
We are looking for applicants with a positive approach, a “can do” attitude and who can provide a high quality, continually improving customer focused service.
Housing knowledge is not essential as you will be working within a team of experienced, supportive and motivated staff and we will work with successful applicants to ensure they are trained and coached to gain the knowledge needed. We also offer great opportunities for career progression.
If appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.
It is a great time to join us and we welcome your application.
Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
Please refer to the person specification within your application.
