Job description

Macquarie Capital’s Net Zero & Climate Risk Program team is responsible for the development and implementation of Macquarie Group’s Net Zero plan, within the Macquarie Capital business. This includes the analysis and reporting on the Financed Emissions of the debt & equity investment portfolios, the Facilitated Emissions of our Capital Markets activities, and working with other business teams to deliver on Macquarie Group’s commitment of Net Zero by 2050.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for the analysis of Macquarie Capital’s Balance Sheet investments, to support the Financed Emissions workstream and external disclosures whilst also analysing capital markets deal activity to support the facilitated emissions workstream. You will engage with deal teams on portfolio investments, emission data and decarbonisation plans, collaborate with other NetZero teams from our other divisions, to develop sector-specific emissions methodology and targets. You will also researching the latest developments in the industry and staying across the latest framework and methodology developments and lastly develop reports on portfolio emissions and decarbonisation pathways, to support management decision making.

What you offer

  • Experience working on complex projects to a high-quality standard and tight schedule, preferably across a global business or team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to influence and present to senior stakeholders with a high level of attention to detail, taking ownership and accountability for deliverables.
  • Proven interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Experience in a financial reporting, framework, governance, or regulatory environments is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a financial institution with exposure to change initiatives in the Climate Risk/Environmental, Social, Governance domain is highly desirable but not required.
