New Business Support Executive
Northampton

As a Barclays New Business Support Executive within Barclays Payments, you will work in a fast-paced environment. Barclays payments is a diversified business offering end to end payment solutions to businesses of all sizes across all customer segments. Our relationship support and professional services are a shared service function that work alongside the Corporate International and Corporate UK Sales communities within Barclays.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

What will you be doing?
  • Completing new customer application paperwork and collecting all relevant Know Your Customer (KYC) documents
  • Submitting new applications and progressing with application process teams until Merchant IDs are raised
  • Updating Salesforce daily with new Merchant IDs and ensuring customer contact details are correct
  • Liaising proactively with merchants once Merchant IDs have been raised and decided upon and agreed to live dates
  • Working with team Leaders on projects relation to client implementations, process improvement, campaign planning, business issues, and execution
  • Assisting with complaint handling for customers


What we’re looking for:
  • Excellent social skills
  • Team player who is confident when working with customers and colleagues alike
  • Knowledge of the Barclays Payments operational/sales structures and processes
  • Proficient with MS Office


Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Competence and knowledge of the Barclays Payments business
  • General knowledge of Corporate Banking
  • Knowledge of the issuing and acquiring industry

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
