The ESG Risk senior Manager will play a leading role in supporting the ESG Risk director in executing the ESG risk framework to support WPB products and segments to roll out and deploy the ESG risk controls. In this role you will:
- Work closely with the second line to understand and influence ESG policy development. Communicate and drive work to implement and operationalize the new ESG policies via development into procedures and processes with WPB plus Regions and markets.
- Support WPB Senior Management on Sustainability risk management and assisting them with the resolution of compliance problems in liaison with the second line, Audit and other SMEs
- Develop appropriate ESG governance processes, reporting and monitoring to provide WPB Senior Management with sufficient oversight and awareness of key ESG business risks so that timely actions can be taken
- Ensure holistic consideration of ESG risks and controls through the client and product lifecycle to ensure compliance with policies and goals.
- Identify and escalate issues where appropriate including via appropriate formal governance (e.g., MSII, HELIOS)
- Leadership in considering and planning for ESG emerging risks as the sustainability agenda develops
- Set and monitor key ESG risk and control indicators aligned to WPB global sustainability strategy and targets
- Provide subject matter expertise and coordination in embedding ESG considerations into existing risk management frameworks (e.g., climate risk into Risk & Control Assessments)
- Establish a clear timeline and roadmap for implementation of all material ESG risk initiatives and policies, ensuring appropriate coordination and communication
- Play an active and leading role in influencing change to ensure that controls are deployed to mitigate sustainability risk
