We have a great opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our close-knit night team at Pride Veterinary Referrals, Derby.
You’ll be working within a large, supportive team on a varied caseload and will alternate between different wards on a weekly basis, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), cat ward, small dog ward, and large dog ward. You will play a crucial role in handling first-opinion emergencies, conducting triage, overseeing inpatient care for both first opinion and referral cases, working within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), aiding in emergency surgeries and procedures, administering medications, and providing telephone advice.

Our Passionate Team
You’ll be joining team of dedicated and experienced colleagues who are passionate about providing the very best treatment and care for our patients. The night team is close-knit and includes a vet, 1 intern, 4 nurses and 2 veterinary care assistants each shift.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least 1 year of experience. While out-of-hours (OOH) and referral experience are not required, they are considered advantageous. Strong core nursing skills, exceptional prioritisation abilities, and adaptability are essential.

The Working Pattern
This is a full-time role, encompassing 7 consecutive nights followed by 14 days off, with each week commencing on a Monday. Shifts are generally 12 hours long, including a 1-hour break, starting between 7pm and 8:30pm. Shift start/finish times may vary slightly based on the specific ward you are assigned to.
