Form of workMedivet have an opportunity for a nurse to join the team at our Matlock practice on a fixed-term basis for a twelve month period starting this July.
Matlock is a busy, well-equipped and well-maintained practice who see a varied small animal caseload with an established team and an incoming lead vet.
The county town of Derbyshire, Matlock is a charming blend of quaint cottages, elegant Georgian buildings and Victorian structures that show it’s rich history. Matlock is renowned for it’s therapeutic thermal springs with the historic spa town of Matlock bath located a short distance away and is a gateway to the peak district national park’s stunning hiking trails and breathtaking views. The A6 runs through the heart of the town providing links to Derby in the South and Bakewell in the North while the railway station, part of the Derwent Valley line, connects the town to Derby.
This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time role working 40 hours per week plus 1:4 Saturday mornings (08:30-12:00) We're open to being flexible where we can so get in touch and let us know what works for you.

Role accountabilities:
- Assisting veterinary surgeons with their medical/surgical duties.
- Monitoring of anaesthesia.
- Nursing/discharge of in-patients, prioritising patient welfare and care.
- Running in house lab samples and organising repeat prescriptions.
- Nurse consultations.
- Assistance with handling of patients.
Your skills and experience:
- Veterinary nursing degree, diploma or equivalent.
- Registered (or able to register) with the RCVS.
- Passion for delivering outstanding service and care for our patients and clients.
- Commitment to animal welfare.
- Excellent organisational skills & ability to keep on top of practice protocols and procedures.
- Flexible & adaptable in approach to work, happy to help and support wherever needed.
- Friendly & positive attitude towards working as part of a team.
- Drive to progress and expand skills/knowledge.
