3. Job Title Night Support Worker
4. Responsible to Housing Manager / Senior Support Worker
5. Job Purpose To provide cover for the project ensuring the safety and security of the project’s tenants offering advice as well as completing any clerical work each night.
6. Main Responsibilities
- 1. To follow the Covid19 procedures set out by YMCA Wearside
- 2. To help tenants maintain accommodation, monitoring access to individual flats and maintaining security of the building.
- 3. Refer tenants to commissioned agencies regarding support throughout the night as and when required.
- 4. To work with external agencies including EDT and police to report any concerns for young people and to report them as missing
- 5. To hold key meetings and risk assessments with the young people who are not available during the day
- 6. To maintain effective working relationships with external agencies on behalf of the tenants.
- 7. To deal with Anti Social Behaviour, following the warning procedure and serving notices.
- 8. To maintain void levels and deal with abandonment of tenancies.
- 9. To assist with the collection of rents and bad debts
- 10. To complete any clerical work and input any data into the AMIS System
- 11. To ensure security measures are maintained, doors are locked, fire alarm checks, CCTV maintenance including appropriate use of furniture and equipment for the property.
- 12. To manage records and files regarding housing management facilitating and managing day to day repairs, including Pat tests, gas and electric safety testing etc.
- 13. To report any repairs and monitor any work in progress checking completed work and updating maintenance records.
- 14. To help with cleaning and maintenance of the building
- 15. To signpost and encourage engagement to relevant care/support and welfare services.
- 16. To contact relevant agencies including Management in regards to any Safeguarding concerns.
- 17. To maintain confidentiality within the policies and procedures of the YMCA and external agencies
- 18. To deal with emergencies in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures
- 19. To work co-operatively as part of a small team in undertaking other responsibilities and tasks requested by the Housing Manager, Chief Executive or Board
- 20. To ensure that visitors sign in and help tenants maintain the security of the building
- 21. Carry out all mandatory and necessary training including SharePoint, Health & Safety and any other course requested within the 6 months probationary period and subsequent refresher training.

8. Discretion to Act The post holder will be expected to show initiative and make decisions within the policies and procedures of YMCA Wearside LTD,
9. Environment The special needs of the client group could lead to the need for conflict and aggression management in an environment which at times could be demanding and stressful. 10. Relationships Internal The post holder will relate to the Senior Worker on a daily basis and have day- to-day contact with other staff members and Tenants. External The post holder will be expected to maintain effective relationships with: - Police Fire Brigade Ambulance personnel - CPNs Statutory organisations Voluntary organisations In addition to the job set out in this description you may, from time-to-time, be required to undertake additional or other duties as necessary within your capabilities and status to meet the needs of YMCA Wearside LTD.

Probationary Period This appointment is subject to a probationary period of 6 months Please note this position is 4 x 12hour shifts: 4 on and 4 off shift patterns with pro rata salary
