The successful candidate will be required to be available outside of services normal working hours as part of a standby rota to respond to out of hours service needs. A standardised standby payment will be made in respect of these duties.

About the Post:
****Shift and weekend enhancements on top of basic wage ****-
Barnsley MBC has a strategic commitment to end Rough Sleeping. Our vision is to provide people with the right accommodation and support to build their resilience and sustain independent living. This post sits within the Housing Led Support Team who use evidenced based approaches to provide personalised, trauma informed support to people who are rough sleeping or who are at risk of rough sleeping. Support will be provided at the projects residential base.
We are looking for people who share our commitment and passion for ending rough sleeping. You will be able to work with people who have a range of needs and behaviours with empathy, patience, and persistence.
The Night Support worker will provide waking night cover in a supported housing project for people with multiple and complex needs. You will act as the first point of contact for the homeless out of hours emergency line and ensure the safety of residents and security of the site. You will have experience with a similar customer group, be able to work on your own initiative, and ensure that records are accurately maintained, good all-round communication skills are also essential. A level 2 qualification, or willingness to work towards this, is also required.
The role will involve working 11-hour shifts, with handovers to daytime staff. The shifts are 9.30pm -8.30am, working 4 days on and 4 days off, this includes weekends and bank holidays.
