About the NPD Assistant job
The purpose of your role will be to assist the NPD Technologist in the development of new products, maintain the highest of standards whilst following regulation and company procedures.
Key tasks
- Follow the NPD procedure and delivery process from concept to launch ensuring that all steps are completed and accurately documented and formulate innovative product concepts in line with internal or customer briefs.
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked and organised NPD kitchen. Maintain food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality standards as well as health & safety.
- Documentation completion, including specifications, recipes, standard operating procedures and prepare product samples.
- Build and maintain a network of contacts and good relationships with suppliers, seek new NPD opportunities. Utilise these resources and expertise to supplement and optimise product development. Maintain an open line of communication with customers.
- Conduct internal and external taste panels as part of the research and development process and continually review the market reporting any risks to line manager.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement by putting forward ideas that might improve quality, efficiency, and profitability of the business.
About You
The successful candidate could be a chef with a food science background or a food science graduate with an interest in cooking.
- A passion for cooking and a love for food and flavours.
- Food science related degree preferable.
- Recent food science graduates would be considered.

The NPD Assistant job is based in West London and is paying 23,000 - 28,000 according to your experience.
The package includes 20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays, increasing by 1 day every calendar year to 25 + Bank Holidays.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
