As a Corporate Approved Building Control Company, Total Building Control Ltd, have an exciting opportunity for an Administrator to join our friendly office in Hove, overlooking the harbour. The ideal candidate will join our office to provide full time Administration support to our busy Building Control team. Ideally, you will have an interest in learning about the construction industry, great attention to detail and to gain a confident telephone manner. This role would ideally suit someone who is keen to learn all administration roles, ambitious and possesses a will to succeed with a proactive outlook and be a team player.
Reporting directly to the Office Team Manager and liaising with all the office team members and surveyors to provide a comprehensive service of all office administration duties. The role will be varied, and on-going training will be provided.
The ideal candidate will be someone that has office experience and customer service skills, be reliable, and conscientious whilst displaying common sense and flexibility, but essentially will be enthusiastic to learn the Building Control requirements that relate to this role.
The role will involve:
- Receiving and making telephone calls - confident telephone manner
- Supporting day-to-day activities as required
- Inputting and updating details on our database
- Managing electronic diaries
- Dealing with any post and ad-hoc duties as required
- Good working attitude, positive approach and flexible on your work duties.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- IT skills – Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel,)
- Training offered for a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Building Control Support upon completion of the probation period.
Experience:
- Educated to a GCSE level
- The ability to use Word, Excel and IT systems is essential with the enthusiasm to learn.
- A Clear confident telephone manner
- Good working attitude, positive approach and flexibility on your work duties.

This role is best suited to someone looking to work in a busy office environment as an Administrator. Working in an interesting, friendly busy office. The role is based on a full time hours Monday to Friday. Offering a salary starting at minimum wage or depending on the level of experience.
