Job description

ASIOX exists to both raise awareness of modern slavery and support survivors in practical ways.  There is clear evidence of an increasing need for the service we offer across Oxfordshire, which helps individuals step out of exploitative situations and into a better life.  Our service has been highly commended, both by local agencies and in the feedback provided by the clients.  We are looking for a new team member who has a passion for justice and a desire to assist survivors in their journey to freedom, and who can help ASIOX develop and expand this valuable service.

The Survivor Support Hub began in 2023 and is a unique service providing person centred support by way of advocacy, friendship, emotional and practical help and is overseen by the SSH Manager.  Much of the direct support will be provided by our trained volunteer Befrienders.  The SSH Manager will  train and support volunteers as well as providing some direct support to survivors, including advocacy and sign-posting to other forms of help.  This service provides an additional layer of support where statutory support ends.  We have seen that providing this kind of support enables survivors in avoiding the risk of re-exploitation and being better equipped to move on with their lives.

This is a new role and is subject to funding with a view to starting in late April 2024, working 24 hours per week on a fixed 1 year contract.  Salary £35,100 pro rata.

You will report to the Operational Lead and Board of Trustees.

Key Responsibilities

·        To manage and develop the SSH in Oxfordshire

·        To work alongside referral partners, to assess and receive referrals into the SSH

·        To negotiate future contracts with funders

·        To ensure the SSH is delivered to the highest standard

·        To develop and build relationships with stakeholders

·        To organise and facilitate pop-up hubs, if required

·        To develop and manage the necessary processes and structures, in order to ensure compliance with good practice and guidance

·        To identify any gaps in policies and procedures relating to the SSH
