Job Title: Operational Service Lead
Location: Maudsley Hospital, London, SE5 8AZ (5 days onsite for training and then 2/3 days WFH can be flexible)
Pay: £31.27 per hour

About the Trust
At South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust we provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. We also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Our staff serve a local population of nearly two million people. We have more than 230 services including inpatient wards, outpatient, and community services. We provide inpatient care for over 5,000 people each year and we treat more than 45,000 patients in the community in Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, and Croydon. As well as serving the communities of south London, we provide more than 50 specialist services for children and adults across the UK and beyond.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Support the development of a culture that promotes leadership through coaching in accordance with Trust standards and protocols.
- Line manage and performance manage team leaders/managers in accordance with Trust standards and protocols.
- Line manage and performance manage team to assist in recruiting, motivating, training, developing and retaining appropriate staff enabling them to have the skills, expertise and discretion to function effectively in their roles.
- Provide demonstrable assurance that staff have the appropriate skills and competence to deliver high quality care.
- Ensure the effective operational management of the CAMHS service in providing services which are in accordance with the objectives of the CAMHS / and achievement of key performance targets.
- Demonstrate clinical competence and role model effective clinical care delivery.
- Recruit/develop team leaders/managers who meet the organisational standards and measure performance against leadership and management competencies adopted by the Trust.
You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
- An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
You'll have the following skills/experience:
- Educated to master's level in management or significant related experience and training.
- Post-graduate level certificate or equivalent in management.
- Track record of undertaking and successfully completing change management.
- Senior Management experience in running large multidisciplinary teams with significant clinical and business delivery targets.
- Experience of managing budgets and resources effectively. Experience of leading and managing change to deliver organisational goals.
- Experience of leading business planning processes and delivering targets within an agreed budget. Experience of working within the NHS, or a related public or voluntary sector organisation. Experience of individual and team Performance Management and Appraisals Experience of involving service users and carers in the development of services.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team.
This role may require you to show evidence of education at master's level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
