I am currently partnered with a client, based in rugby who are a leading logistics company that provides end-to-end solutions for worldwide shipments and cross trade consignments. They are currently looking for an Operations Assistant to join our dynamic and friendly team on a 14 month FTC.
The role:
As an Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing shipping/transport quotations and invoices for customers and suppliers
- Booking despatches with hauliers/forwarders/despatch depot/shipping lines
- Preparing and processing export documentation and packing lists
- Entering bookings into our bespoke shipment software
- Managing specific projects and expediting shipments
- Dealing with queries and issues from customers and suppliers
- Answering telephone and email enquiries
- Reporting and escalating to Manager as required
The requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Knowledge of shipping methods and terminology
- Understanding of a logistics business and Incoterms 2020
- Experience in an Operations Assistant role within a freight forwarding environment
- Intermediate experience of MS Office programs
- Proven customer service experience and excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent numeracy, communication, and administration skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong teamwork ethic with ability to work on own when required
