Operations Deployment Support Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to work for our global pharmaceutical client. The role is a full-time temporary contract role to start ASAP and is initially signed off for 1 year. Candidates must have a full Driver’s Licence as 3 – 4 days per week will be spent traveling to varies sites with the remaining days in the office, located in Exeter., If you are willing to travel to site, your location doesn’t necessarily matter, but anywhere from the M62 down would work. The position will involve significant travel throughout the rest of the UK and on occasions, globally. Due to the locations of some of the sites this position will involve overnight trip. This position offers an hourly rate of up to £22 per hour, depending on experience plus 25 days holiday pro rata and other benefits.

Brief description of position:

The Operations Deployment Support Engineer will be a key part of the Sense Hub Poultry team.

The position will involve close collaboration with key customers, key opinion leaders, suppliers and industry stakeholders providing both proactive and reactive technical and operational support.

The position requires exceptional communication and collaboration with the UK Insight vets, the innovation team in Israel and SenseHub Poultry Leadership team to ensure that our customers are getting the best possible experience from the company.

The role will require the ability strategically assess equipment that our customers currently have and will require in the future working with the vets to identify potential issues before they impact on our customers. The Operations Deployment Support Engineer will be responsible for Pre-Delivery Inspections, repairs, maintenance, servicing, and installation of the SenseHub Poultry product portfolio. This role will also be vital in training both customers and internal colleagues in the use, configuration and day to day maintenance of this equipment. 

The Operations Deployment Support Engineer will be responsible for helping plan projects from a technical installation perspective, ensuring that the correct equipment and materials are dispatched to sites ready for installation. The role will require the ability to plan and organise their day-to-day activities in conjunction with direction from the Operations Manager. It will also be necessary to work with the leadership team to ensure that appropriate risk assessments and method statements are in place for any work undertaken.

The position will involve significant travel throughout the rest of the UK and on occasions, globally. Due to the locations of some of the sites this position will involve overnight trips.

Working with the rest of the SenseHub Poultry team to monitor and analyse the different data sets and to give feedback on poultry house climate conditions to use this information to help develop business strategies and identify new market opportunities.

Major Activities and Responsibilities

• Close liaison with SenseHub Poultry team, innovation team in Israel and UK Insight vet team to ensure customers are well supported.
• Planning projects from a systems perspective to ensure that the correct equipment and materials are dispatched to sites ready for installation.
• Plan their day-to-day activities in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
• Installation of SenseHub Poultry product portfolio on sites across the UK and Globally.
• Training customers and colleagues in the use, installation and maintenance of SenseHub Poultry products
• Working with the Leadership team to ensure appropriate risk assessments and method statements are in place.
• Call out visits to site both planned and reactive to sites to repair/ replace non functioning devices.
• Maintain and build your professional competence in the Poultry industry by keeping up to date with industry news, developments and research.
• Contribute to the development of the Poultry Sense business strategies, helping to identify and develop new opportunities.

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Knowledge and experience of poultry production systems.
• Ability to remotely advise customers on repairs and maintenance of SenseHub Poultry products.
• Ability to repair, maintain and upgrade products both remotely and on site.
• Ability to work on your own or as part of a team to maintain, install and service SenseHub Poultry products across the UK and globally.
• An in depth understanding of the KPI’s used in poultry production systems and how these will impact on our customers.
• Wide-ranging and sound communication skills.
• Ability to adapt and evolve within a rapidly changing market environment.
