NRL are working with an engineering company who, due to growth require an Operations Engineer to join their team on a permanent staff basis. You will cover the UK, working on their number of sites that they operate.
You will work in the operations team to provide reliability and performance oversight to the sites. You will work with the operations coordinator and define technical requirements to ensure regulatory compliance, and improve equipment availability and performance.
Future opportunities to grow skills and responsibility and branch into further areas of the company including project development and construction management will also be available.
This opportunity would suit an engineer with experience in the construction project management or Operations Engineering who is looking to take on responsibility and grow with the company.
Key areas of responsibility (list main priorities)
- Technical accountability for site contracts including Long Term Service Agreements
- Responsible for ensuring legal, safety and environmental compliance of equipment
- Monitoring and improvement of equipment reliability and performance
- Definition and optimisation of maintenance schedules, scope and technical standards
- Solving and implementing engineering issues arising through operations.
- Ensure maintenance of relevant records and documents
Day-to-day duties of the position (general duties)
- Define technical scope and requirements of maintenance contracts
- On-site support and supervision of contractors (ad hoc basis)
- Review operating and reliability performance and drive improvement using specialist contractors
- Maintain technical scope work within CMMS
Skills and Competencies Required for the Role
- Self-motivated
- Experience of working with in a diverse team to maintain reliable operation of multiple sites.
- A pragmatic and practical approach to deliver in a cost-effective manner.
- At least 3 years of experience in a project engineer or Operations Engineer role
Experience on the following is desired:
- Technical Contract Management
- Equipment reliability and performance analysis
- Maintenance strategy definition
- Regulatory requirements of energy projects including MCPD, LOLER, PSSR, EUETS
Qualifications Required (particular degree, apprenticeships and any site passes required)
- Engineering qualification - HNC/HND or higher
Salary and Benefits (list min to max salary + bonus packages, holidays, any other perks)
- £40-55k salary dependant on experience

Additional info: Hours, where based, is driving licence required, any time away from home etc
- This job would require mobility to get to various project sites so a driving license is required and preferably a car
- We are a flexible working organisation, which would allow mutual pragmatic approach to working patterns, but may also include occasional out of normal hours working.
- Working location is negotiable. However it is expected the candidate will spend an initial period primarily based out of our main office in the North East.
