Our Client who have a number homes in the the East and some in the south are looking for an Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure the delivery of quality service within each Care/Nursing Home by conducting an Audit of the homes regularly, becoming the ‘Responsible Individual for the Services on successful completion of 6 months probation.
- To proactively manage and supervise the work of Care/Nursing Home Managers to ensure that systems at the Care/Nursing Homes meet and beat those in accordance with CQC regulations. To be present at all regulatory Inspections when they occur alongside the manager.
- To manage the Care/Nursing Home Manager to ensure Care Home staff members are fully compliant with regulatory policies and procedure.
- To lead Care/Nursing Home Managers in staff recruitment, training, and development, and when necessary, disciplinary issue.
- To take joint responsibility for development work undertaken by each of the Care Homes such as building work.
- To market the care/nursing homes to potential clients and organisations best placed to provide referrals.
- To complete and submit accurate reports to meet deadlines and bid for appropriate public sector tenders relevant to the care/nursing homes.
- To establish collaborative working relationships with relevant professional bodies.
- To monitor budgetary performance and advice on corrective actions.
- To encourage the Care/Nursing Home Managers and staff to promote a positive image within the community.
- To ensure Care Home Managers receive appropriate induction and that their performance is monitored with annual appraisals, coaching, counselling, and implementing corrective action where necessary.
- To ensure that each Care Home is visited regularly as per the schedule set by directors for Quality Assurance Audit Purposes and to produce a monthly report to the directors.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all matters concerning the Head Office, clients, staff, and related work. Attend staff meetings and attend training sessions when requested.
- Act as an ambassador for the businesses and always demonstrate integrity
- Encourage sharing and development of best practice.
- Any other reasonable duties relating to Operational Management, which may be requested.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Performance Appraisal Criteria for the Position:
- Management: To take joint responsibility with the Managers of the Care/Nursing Homes.
- Occupancy: To work towards and ensure the service always has full occupancy, with private clients at prescribed rates. To develop contacts within Medical professionals, CCGs, and Social Services department to ensure the service is well known, respected, and preferred as the first choice for placements.
- Quality: To promote a caring environment for Service users through high standards of professional practice which are conducive to their physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs.
- To ensure that each Service user receives person-centered outcomes-focused care appropriate to their individual need. To be recognised and acknowledged as promoting the ideal environment for their relative by families of residents.
- Recruitment: To help ensure the service is adequately staffed for the number of service users at any given time and eliminate the need for agency staffing.
- Regulation: To meet and beat the Health and Social Care Act 2014 and any updates, current legislative requirements, and other relevant good practice guides.
- New projects: To successfully implement new projects proposed by the Directors with regards to the expansion of regulated activities, extensions, and aid with new acquisitions.
