Job Description
- Oversee day-to-day operations within the Engineering & Manufacturing department.
- Implement effective operational strategies and processes.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a the team, doing all scheduling, hiring, mentoring, etc.
- Ensure production targets are met without compromising quality.
- Identify opportunities for process and product improvements and implement them.
- Support with client complaints, timeline updates, etc.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Manage departmental budgets and report on performance.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Operations Manager should have:
- An educational background in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a managerial role within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of operational process and workflow optimization; understanding of project based work/orders.
- Strong technical acumen and problem-solving skills (CAPAs).
- A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements; understanding of continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing practices.
- Strong budget management and reporting skills.
- The ability to plan schedules, equipment, material based on customer orders/needs; adaptability to manufacturing changes in volume, and deliver projects/products in a short turnaround time.
- Commitment to health and safety regulations.
- Excel proficiency or tech-savvy.
