Job Title: Operations Manager - Youth Offending Service
Length of assignment: 3 Months
Location: Northampton, Billing Road, NN1 5DB
Pay Rate: £30-£32 per hour
Remote/Hybrid:You will be required to work some out of office hours including evenings/weekends and less often bank holidays and participate in a 7-day on call’ rota system including attending where court cover may be required or where issues of safeguarding and/or risk of harm to the public occur (on average approximately 1 weekend in four).
Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service is looking for an Operations Manager to join our service in a 3 month position
This role will oversee the management of the Post Court team based in the West of the County.
As the Operations Manager you will effectively manage the day-to-day operations and delivery of youth justice in Northamptonshire to achieve best outcomes for children, young people, families, and victims and protect the public from serious harm. Ideally you will have a relevant professional or degree level qualification, ideally as a qualified social worker, probation office, police chief inspector.
The key objectives of the post are:
- Manage and direct the operational staff and resources across the service to meet the statutory aim of preventing offending and re-offending by children and young people in Northamptonshire
- Promote and maximise the welfare and safeguarding of children, young people (and their family members) and victims known to the service and protect the public from serious harm.
- Increase awareness, understanding and confidence in the youth justice system by other agencies and members of the public
- Contribute and assist in the operational and strategic development of the YOS, Youth Justice.
